Rich Thometz

Rich Thometz is the founder and founder of Hailey Development, which he established in 1998 after launching his career in 1984 with The Development Group. Prior to founding Hailey Development, he spent a decade at Winchester Homes (Weyerhaeuser) as Vice President and Legal Counsel.

A respected leader in the industry, Rich served as President of both the Maryland National Capital Building Industry Association (MNCBIA) in 2002 and the Maryland State Builders Association (MSBA) in 2008. He has been actively involved with the Howard County Green Business Council and the Maryland Clean Energy Center, contributing to sustainable business initiatives. His dedication extends beyond development, as he has also supported crisis shelter organizations and was a founding board member of M-CAEL, a non-profit focused on providing adult English literacy resources in Montgomery County. In recognition of his impact on the industry and the community, Rich received the prestigious Milton E. Kettler Award in 2013. He also co-owns Efficient Home LLC with Tony Crane, delivering energy efficiency solutions across the Mid-Atlantic.

Rich holds a BS in Accounting and a BA in Political Science from the University of Maryland, both magna cum laude, and earned his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, cum laude.

Mike Fitzgerald

Mike Fitzgerald brings decades of development expertise to Hailey Development, where he has been a key partner since founding Fitzgerald Development Services, LLC in 2008. His collaboration with Hailey Development has enhanced every phase of project execution, from acquisitions to entitlements and large-scale development management.

Mike's career began as a college intern in road construction, paving the way for his passion for development. After graduating, he joined Orchard Development, then moved on to Pulte Homes, where he rose to Vice President of Land. There, he led acquisitions and development for projects across the Baltimore-Washington region and Delaware, ranging from 30-home communities to large-scale developments of 3,500 units, complete with major recreational amenities.

Mike holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Widener University and continues to play a pivotal role in shaping successful real estate projects throughout the region

Tyler Kohler

Tyler Kohler joined Hailey Development in 2015, bringing expertise in civil engineering, landscape architecture, and real estate development. His role focuses on project management, ensuring seamless execution across a range of developments.

Tyler’s journey in the industry began in 2008 with KCI Technologies, Inc., where he honed his technical skills before transitioning to real estate development. In 2014, he earned his Master’s in Real Estate and Development from the University of Maryland, solidifying his expertise in the field.

With a BS in Landscape Architecture from West Virginia University, Tyler’s diverse background has been instrumental in integrating engineering, design, and development into Hailey Development’s projects. He remains dedicated to expanding his expertise and contributing to the company's continued success.
